Building a good system. In general, you can be sure that any graphics card available today at a cost of slightly more than 40 euros can run the MXWendler vj-software. But do not expect wonders from this kind of hardware. (although we had impressive throughputs with ATI 9700 mobile devices).
A critical part is the disk. Video moves a lot of data. Full and fragmented notebook disks have horribly low performance. Get a raid, or at least defragment your drive and keep it at maximum 60% full.
Ram: it should be obvious that realtime vj-software with less than 512MB ram is almost impossible. Also, if you use resolutions above 320x240, get a GB of ram.
| Video | Disk | Ram |
Minimal | NVidia: 5200, 6200 / ATI 9200 | IDE 5200 Rpm | 512 MB |
Medium | NVidia: 6600,6800 / ATI X200,X600,X800 | SATA 7200 | 1 GB |
High | NVidia: 7800,7900,7950 / ATI X1600,X1800,X1900 | SATA Raid 10.000 RPM(eg. WD Raptor) | 2 GB |
Feel free to ask by email if you have further questions. It is absolutely ok to ask if your systems are well configured to run our video software products.
