Does it run avi movies? MXWendler plays any avi movie format your system can read. What is the best codec? Any video footage is converted on-the-fly into a special hardware-optimized codec, which does not require any further software decompression. Thus this question does not exist anymore. You can throw in your worst DivX-footage and MXwendler will play it backward and forward with full speed. If you do not use the clip anymore, you can delete the cache. The footage itself will remain unchanged. Although the codec is completely decoded by the hardware the quality is fantastic. How long does the conversion take? This depends on the size of the footage. 320x240 size footage converts in realtime on modern systems, DV-Size footagetakes approximately 4 times longer. How big is the converted cache? This depends on the compressibility of the footage. Worst cases produce sizes comparable to cinepak compressions. Best cases achieve compression rates of 95 percent. Does it support a feedback mechanism? MXWendler captures its render results and provides it to the system as a virtual capture device. All other applications like VIDEOLAN or the Flash Media Encoder(r) will accept MXwendler as they accept your USB or DV cam. Consequently, MXwendler can re-open itself, giving you fantastic creative options. Does it support liveinput devices? MXwendler opens as many live input devices as you can connect to your system. Be aware that there may be a throughput limit in your USB or Firewire bus. Also, the cpu has to decompress the videostreams. Does it play flash? MXwendler features a hardware accelerated flash player, which rasterizes flash using OpenGL. It MUCH faster and resource saving than the macromedia flash player. The script support is limited. Does it play pictures? Mxwendler opens any standard image (tif, png, jpg) in resolutions up to 4096x4096. |
