Look & Feel
With the update to version 7, StageDesigner offers numerous new functions and improvements.
Starting with version 7, the StageDesigner user interface can be freely modified and scaled. In just a few steps, the user interface is focused on the essentials, for example to keep track of the playlist or to provide a preview.
Individual parts of the user interface can be detached from the UI and moved and scaled as desired in order to design the user interface as desired. This makes the workflow even more precise and multi-monitor setups can be used optimally!
Preload & Playlist
Organize your media as cues with the playlist and control video, audio and lighting.
In the playlist, you can create your cues (recordings) in a clear, tabular system that can be expanded by rows and columns as desired. This way you transfer the show program into a logical flow that can be easily followed.
Another unique feature is that media (preload) and show flow (playlist) are explicitly separated. Both can therefore be developed independently of each other. This simplifies the artistic development process of a production, which is often changeable.
At the same time, the separation of media and sequence means that once a playlist has been built, it can be reused as a template for new shows.
Mapping
With the practical mapping tool, you adjust the output precisely and at any time to your specific stage situation.
Video mapping in the theater or at events opens up new possibilities for designing the stage set. In most productions, mapping is therefore very individual, which is why precise settings have to be made.
With StageDesigner, you can use practical features to intervene in the settings at any point in the creation process and adjust the mapping precisely. Once settings have been made, they can be saved and reused as templates.
The mapping tool enables, among other things: Scale, rotate, flip, colorize and mask the output. Distort video in perspective on walls. Softedges allow panoramic projections. Black Level allows homogeneous areas in the dark areas. Animation tool allows tracking of moving stage elements.
Developed for over a decade, the mapping tool is field-proven, mature, highly accurate and user-friendly.
Media-Engine
Whether small or large or even from a stick: The software reads everything!
From ad-hoc rehearsals with the smallest clips to high-resolution, projector-spanning image sequences. StageDesigner allows video in H.264 and MPEG-2 up to 4K and beyond, in both AVI and Quicktime formats. The video engine is based on the well-known VLC player.
The media engine also supports captioning, rich text, PDF files, and streaming formats such as NDI, any live camera, the HAP format specifically designed for large format video, and audio files with up to 64 channels.
Video cues can be dynamically controlled in playback speed for impressive scenic and dramatic effects.
Open for all tools
Dozens of protocols connect the StageDesigner with all tools, sensors and controllers.
Of course, the StageDesigner can be controlled via Midi, DMX and Art-Net. Fixture files are prepared for commercially available lighting consoles. Via the CITP protocol, media libraries can be read out on the lighting console and previewed.
The easiest way to operate the playlist is via the keyboard. However, modern controllers such as the Streamdeck, which communicate via the network protocol OSC, are also conceivable. You can also connect your own smartphone or specially developed sensors via OSC. A Wii can also be connected. All control impulses can be interpreted with Javascript and integrated into the show sequence.
LUT
LUT filters, or Look-Up Table, are powerful tools used in digital image and video editing to enhance and transform the visual appearance of media content. In a short, LUT is essentially a table that maps one set of colors to another, allowing for quick and consistent adjustments to color, contrast, saturation, and other visual parameters.
With our LUT packages, you gain access to hundreds of transformative color grading tools. You can apply these transformations to your projects, bringing out the vibrant hues, nuanced contrasts, and captivating atmospheres. Moreover, this is a perfect approach to give a wide set of footage a similar appearance, giving a consistent look&feel all along a multimedia production.

A/B/C operating concept: Usable for every level
The StageDesigner operating concept follows an A/B/C concept: beginner, advanced and expert.
There cannot be a full-skill operator for every show. The StageDesigner is therefore designed in such a way that an absolute beginner (A-level) can be taught the basic principles within a few hours in order to be able to perform a prepared show safely.
Advanced students (B-Level) can solve creative tasks and smaller problems. They are able to set up a simple show for the evening.
Experts (C-level) advise the assistant director and show what is possible - for an impressive video performance.
With this concept we have become the standard software in theaters, as the show flow is guaranteed with any experience level.
