Record rehearsals and review them immediately

Each channel is an independent recorder and player. A recording stops straight into the player so the scene can be checked at once. Several channels can be selected and controlled in sync: transport, record and markers in one command.

  • Set markers during recording and playback and jump to them precisely
  • Export sections between markers as a new video file with one click – no editing system needed
  • Switch cameras during a running recording without interruption
  • Clear interface, designed for touch panels and kiosk operation
Signal flow: four channels with camera and output, storage and network
Timer & documentation

Scheduled recording, clean archiving

The recorder captures one or more cameras from a given time for a given duration, creating valuable documentation recordings automatically. Schedules can be imported and exported as iCal.

  • Recording times and durations by schedule, tasks are stored in the project
  • Channels individually assignable: camera and output via SDI to screen, LED or projector
  • Optional video portal: recordings are uploaded, transcoded and streamed in the browser automatically
  • Reminder mails before old takes are deleted, with keep and publish links
Streamdeck controller for operating the recorder

Technology

Professional recording pipeline

10-bit pipeline

Cameras and capture cards delivering P010/P016 run through at 10 bit. HEVC (NVENC) and ProRes store 10 bit, H.264 via NVENC or Quick Sync at 8 bit.

Schedules

Start and stop recordings at fixed times. Import and export as iCal (.ics), live list with countdowns.

Sync sets

Save loaded files and channel selection as a set and recall it any time, for example for a multi-perspective debrief.

Multi-source profiles

Recording profiles combine several inputs. Mismatched formats are scaled and letterboxed.

Output to monitors

Each channel is routed to a target monitor and audio sink. Secondary monitors show the channel borderless and full screen.

Video portal

Optional PeerTube portal with the Stage Recorder plugin: recordings are served as HLS streams in 720p or 1080p to the whole house.

Video on stage

Media servers for theatre and opera

Alongside the recorder, FXServer and StageDesigner have run in theatres and opera houses since 2006: cues from the lighting desk via DMX, Art-Net or MIDI, live camera over SDI and NDI with low latency, every production its own project, touring with the GastspielServer in a rollable case.
